Report Tar Heels star commits to Indiana Hoosiers

Former UNC running back Elijah Green commits to Big Ten program.
Elijah Green, a former North Carolina Tar Heels running back, has a new home and is headed to the Big Ten.

Green announced on Thursday via X (previously Twitter) that he has committed to a new program. Green will transfer to the Indiana Hoosiers and take the next stage in his college football career.
Green entered the transfer portal on November 27th, after four seasons at North Carolina. His greatest season with the Tar Heels was in 2022, when he carried for 558 yards and eight touchdowns. However, his output decreased with the return of British Brooks and the rise of Omarion Hampton.

With a full backfield, Green should definitely go on to a new program and earn more playing time. Indiana gives him that opportunity in the Big Ten.

Indiana ranks as the favourite for a UNC basketball target in the portal.

North Carolina has progressed slower than other institutions in the transfer portal, owing to pending choices from Harrison Ingram and RJ Davis. It should not have a significant influence on their pursuit of players through the transfer site, and they are confident.

However, one athlete in whom the Tar Heels are interested is said to already have a favorite.
Oumar Ballo hasn’t been on the transfer portal long, but he already has a few visits scheduled, including one to UNC. However, it appears that the Indiana Hoosiers are the squad to beat in this recruitment.

Travis Branham of 247Sports made a crystal ball prediction that Ballo would land at Indiana. The prediction arrived on Friday afternoon and is the only one available right now. However, Branham’s position as a top recruiting analyst for 247Sports lends credibility to the statement.

Ballo is the top-ranked player in the 247Sports transfer rankings and is visiting Indiana this weekend. This thing may be sealed up for the Hoosiers by the end of the visit, which would be bad news for the other teams vying for it.
