Breaking: Dundee United miss out on ex-Tannadice favourite

Any switch made by Fuchs would have left United with a sizable portion of the action.

Jeando Fuchs, a former favourite of Tandadice, left Peterborough United at the end of his contract, meaning Dundee United will not receive a sell-on money.

Due to severe thigh and knee problems, Fuchs, 26, played in just 11 games in 2023–2024. He announced his departure a few days before the Posh’s loss to Oxford United in the League One playoff semi-final.

The aggressive Cameroonian, who cost the club around £150,000 to sign, made 61 appearances for Peterborough after coming from United in January 2022.

Courier Sport understands a healthy sell-on percentage was inserted as part of that deal and, given there was interest in Fuchs in the summer of 2022 and he was made available for transfer in 2023, it seemed that would pay dividends.

However, no switch came to fruition and the player has seen out his contract.

Fuch’s message to supporters

“The past two years have been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, marked by challenging injuries and unforgettable moments on the field,” Fuchs wrote in an Instagram post confirming his departure and thanking the Posh supporters.

“I have much valued your support during my tenure at the club, through both the good and the bad times. Riding high on your enthusiasm and encouragement, it has been an honor to battle for our team.

“I appreciate being accepted into this amazing community. Thank you.”

After joining United from Alaves in 2020, Fuchs played 48 appearances for the Tangerines, proving to be an energetic and aggressive player that helped the team establish itself in the top division.
