Breaking: Jim Goodwin and Dundee Utd looking to secure deal for next Bojan Miovski ahead of Premiership return

While in command of Aberdeen, Goodwin managed to acquire gems like Miovski and Ylber Ramadani through overseas shopping.

For Dundee United, Jim Goodwin is trying to find another Ylber Ramadani or Bojan Miovski.

The seasoned manager has guided Tannadice Club back to the Premiership and is aware that their ascent to the top division will provide them with several more opportunities abroad. Michael Cairney has already been appointed head of recruitment at United, and Goodwin is hoping to replicate his success at Dons by bringing in Ramadani, who is currently with Serie A team Lecce, as well as Mihaiski and Duk.

“I feel I have had considerable success at previous clubs looking at the foreign markets,” Goodwin stated. People like Ilkay Durmus arrived at St. Mirren and performed admirably. Bojan Miovski, Duk, and Ylber Ramadani are the three that come to mind right away while at Aberdeen. The fact that overseas markets are not usually extremely profitable, particularly in eastern Europe, might also be advantageous financially.

However, Goodwin has made it apparent that he desires a core group of seasoned British players. “I prefer signing players who understand the Scottish game, and you don’t want to be bringing in too many foreign players because they need time to adjust,” he continued.

“It’s a different culture, a new environment and a different style of play. You have to consider all of those things.”
