Breaking: Ayr United agree deal to sign 21-year-old midfielder

Coventry City can confirm that midfielder Marco Rus has joined Ayr United.

Rus, 21, has signed with the Scottish Championship side for an unknown price, subject to international clearance.

Rus joined Coventry City from Southampton in July 2021 and was part of the Under 21s squad that won the Professional Development League title in May 2022, scoring in the final against Bristol City.

Marco was a key player of the Sky Blues Under-21s squad who advanced to the Birmingham Senior Cup final in 2022/23, donning the captain’s armband on several occasions.

Last season, he spent time on loan at Chorley FC and FC Universitatea Cluj in Romania, as well as sitting on the bench for Sky Blues first-team games.
