Transfer News: Burnley unlucky ace agree deal to join rival team – Birmingham city miss out

Birmingham City, Sunderland, and Hull City target ‘closing in’ on transfer
A huge development has occurred about a Birmingham City and Sunderland summer transfer target.
Burnley attacking midfielder Scott Twine is allegedly close to signing a permanent agreement with Bristol City after a half-season loan, giving a blow to Birmingham and Sunderland.

The 24-year-old dazzled during his loan time at Ashton Gate, scoring two goals in ten Sky Bet Championship outings after six months at Hull City, where he scored four and assisted three. Twine joined Burnley in 2022 after scoring 20 goals and assisting 13 in 45 League One games for MK Dons, but he has yet to establish himself at Turf Moor.

Bristol Live reports. Twine, who began his career at Swindon Town, has been training with Bristol City ahead of the preseason and has not yet returned to his parent club Burnley. This is owing to the two teams’ advanced discussions about the loan becoming a permanent deal. According to reports, Bristol City are confident that a deal will be completed soon.
Liam Manning has not concealed the Robins’ desire to sign Twine. “I’d love to work with him,” the head coach stated in April. “I believe he matches the club and the profile of players we have. For me, he’s been fantastic; I believe he has another level to reach, and he fits in with what we’re trying to accomplish.”

Bristol City deals Birmingham and Sunderland a transfer blow.
It will be frustrating for Birmingham and Sunderland if Bristol City does sign Twine, since both teams have been connected with a possible hijack. The Blues would be able to provide Twine star-man status at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, but Sunderland are looking to improve their attack as they try to climb into Championship play-off contention.
