Report: Ravens sign another wide receiver in a $62 Million blockbuster trade

Ravens Set to Visit with $62 Million Wide Receiver
The Baltimore Ravens have made few acquisitions during the 2024 NFL offseason.

They had a huge one with Derrick Henry, but things have been quiet for them since then.

Meanwhile, more than 10 players have left for new teams.
With so many openings to fill, they’ll need to hit the free agency market shortly, and it appears they’ve already narrowed their focus on one player.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens will hold a meeting with former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup.

A bad investment for the cowboys.
The Cowboys take a significant gamble with Gallup in 2022.

He had been a good receiver for the first four years of his NFL career, including a 1000-yard season in 2019, but his fourth season was cut short after nine games when he tore his ACL.

Despite his injuries, the Cowboys signed him to a five-year, $62.5 million contract.

The Cowboys’ move failed to pay off.
Gallup hasn’t put up the same statistics since returning from his injury.

Gallup hasn’t had a 500-yard receiving season in the three years since signing that contract.

During that period, he moved down the WR depth chart. CeeDee Lamb developed into one of the league’s greatest receivers, and the team eventually traded for Brandin Cooks last summer.

With Gallup failed to provide a return on investment and more skilled options on the roster, the Cowboys chose to let him go in order to free up contract money.

Regardless of how things played out for him in Dallas, Gallup may be a terrific match for the Ravens if they can sign him to a more fair contract than the one he has had in recent years.
