Breaking: Carolina Panthers Closing In On Deal To Sign $18.4 Million WR After Turning Down Deal With Rivals

The Panthers have already added a high-profile receiver this offseason, obtaining Diontae Johnson in a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Carolina now has an impressive pair in Johnson and Adam Thielen, as well as Jonathan Mingo, the second-round choice from last year.

However, second-year quarterback Bryce Young could need all the support following a tough rookie season, so Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder believes Beckham may be an excellent option for the Panthers.

Beckham remains unsigned over a month into free agency, highlighting how far he has fallen from his Pro Bowl days with the New York Giants.

The 31-year-old played the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens, appearing in 14 games and recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

While those figures are definitely a far cry from Beckham’s former self, they are not bad for an auxiliary option, as Beckham would be in Carolina.

The question is whether Beckham would accept that role.

There is certainly a reason why he is still available, implying that there may be a discrepancy between the type of player NFL teams realize Beckham is and what Beckham believes he is. Perhaps he is looking for a larger role or a higher salary.

The LSU product did meet with the Miami Dolphins last month and was offered a contract, but he turned it down.

It’s beginning to reach a point where Beckham may have to settle, and the Panthers could end up being one of the top potential landing spots for him.

We’ll see if Carolina tries to take a swing on Odell Beckham Jr., although you have to assume he would probably prefer to sign with a contender.
