Breaking: Cardinals Superstar Closing In On Deal To Join Rangers In Blockbuster Deal After Tough Start

St. Louis will have to make a difficult decision soon involving one of its best stars.

Could the St. Louis Cardinals deal one of their best players this year?

St. Louis hasn’t had the best start to the season, sitting at 9-13. The Cardinals have a lot of skill and should be able to turn things around, but they haven’t had much luck this season.

The Cardinals have dealt with numerous ailments, but things haven’t gone as planned. If the Cardinals can’t get back on track and the season spirals out of control like it did last year, some huge deals could be on the way.

Paul Goldschmidt, the great first baseman, has already been mentioned in trade speculations. He has struggled this season, but he may be a valuable trade asset if the Cardinals decide to switch things up.

According to Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly, the reigning champion Texas Rangers are a potential trade destination for Goldschmidt.

“Ideal Landing Spots: (Cleveland Guardians), Rangers, (New York Yankees), (and) (Minnesota Twins),” he remarked. “The St. Louis Cardinals may want to keep Paul Goldschmidt for his legacy. He won the (National League) MVP award with them and has spent six seasons in St. Louis following an eight-year stint with the Arizona Diamondbacks…

“The Yankees (Anthony Rizzo), Rangers (Jared Walsh), and Twins (Carlos Santana) all have veteran first base options that Goldschmidt would represent a clear upgrade over.”

Goldschmidt was in trade rumors for much of the 2023 season but the team opted to hang on to him and there has been speculation that the two sides will come together on a contract extension. If he isn’t able to turn things around soon, that could change.
